2 Main Causes of Acne Scars

by David Lam

Your body will response to injury that caused by inflammatory acne lesions and form acne scar. Normally, scarring is a result of severe nodular acne that occurs deep in the skin. However it can be arise from more superficial inflamed lesions.

In most cases, the acne scars that people get are mild type. Some of them may have the scars that look significant even to others. To minimize the risk of permanent acne scars, it will be better too prevent and treat the acne right away as sometimes even mild acne can cause scarring. However you can treat these acne scars by using the acne scar removal that I recommended in my website.

There are 2 types of tissue response to the inflammation of acne that can cause formation of acne scar.

Increased Tissue Formation

One of the reasons that acne scars form is the increased tissue formation which known as keloids or hypertrophic scars. They are the most common type of acne scars that bulge out and look like lumps. Due to the excessive amounts of collagen production, these scars are associated with an exaggerated formation of scar tissue.

As the skin cells injury, overproduction of collagen will happen. It will form an irregularly-shaped scar and become piled up in fibrous masses. Sometimes, it will seem to be a minor injury as the size of it goes far beyond what would be expected. They are more commonly occurring in dark-skinned individual and it is kind of an ‘over-scarring’.

Loss of Tissues

This is the most common type of tissue respone to eh inflammation of acne. Some scars which called atrophic scar or crateriform scars can be appear as holes, pits, or craters in the skin. These depressed, cavity-like, inward-directed scars are form as a result of lack in tissue which occurs during the inflammation from healed acne that causes by destruction to the skin. So, the scar tissue will become smaller until binds the skin down.

Facing acne scar can be tough, but you can do it. There are lots of acne scar removal which based on the kinds of scars you have and the kind of skin you have. However some people have a combination of different types of scars so that one acne scar treatment may not work on them all.

Oh No! I’m Too Old For Acne

Adult acne is no joke. Many people experience acne during their teenage years and expect to “grow” out of it in their 20’s and have nice clear skin. It does not seem fair that acne can show it’s ugly heads, excuse the pun, once we become adults. In fact adult acne can be prevalent from the 20’s right up until old age.

The chief reason that acne can appear during your adult years a well as when you were a teenager is that the root cause of acne is an overproduction of sebum due to hormonal imbalance. The hair follicle glands produce sebum and when too much is produced the hair follicles become clogged. Bacteria feed off the sebum and infects the follicle causing a pimple.

Hormonal imbalance can occur at different times during your life such as pregnancy, menopause and during your senior years, causing adult acne.  It is quite a shock to experience adult acne but luckily most types of acne are easily treated. Acne treatments usually focus on unclogging pores and killing bacteria or controlling hormones. An effective natural acne treatment is Acnezine, with an antioxidant formula for teenage or adult acne. http://topskincarehub.com/acnezine.html

There are many ways to treat acne. Acne treatments range from controlling hormones to unclogging pores to killing the bacteria that infects hair follicles.  Most treatments usually focus on unclogging pores and killing bacteria; however the pill or birth control is sometimes prescribed to women by doctors or dermatologist to control hormones and lower the incidence or severity of acne.

For many women the birth control pill has been found to control hormones and improve the condition to some extent. You should consult a dermatologist for a correct diagnosis and to determine if a birth control pill prescription is the right treatment for you.
