Can Anyone Get Eczema?

Exactly what is eczema anyway?

Quite a few skin conditions fall into the group under the name of eczema. Generally the skin condition causes the skin to become red, itchy and irritated. Other identifying indications are crusting, flaking, skin oedema, cracking, bleeding or oozing.

What are my chances of getting eczema?

1) As with many health problems hereditary factors play a part, with experts agreeing that if there has been a history of eczema you are far more likely to be subject to it.

2) Allergic reactions to various substances such as a variety of solvents, poison ivy, or nickel, are the second major cause of developing eczema.

3) People with dry skin especially when the dryness is extreme and goes past a specific level are more prone to get eczema.

Small babies are often prone to eczema for no reason, but with adults when it crops up there is usually a firm cause and basis behind it
